ITL BioMedical Becomes a Signatory to the United Nations Global Compact

Company Commits to Aligning Its Strategy and Operations with the Compact’s Ten Principles on Human Rights, Labour Standards, the Environment, and Anti-Corruption

Reston, VA—ITL BioMedical, a global leader in the design and manufacture of safe, efficient medical devices for biological sampling, today announced that it has become a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. The signing marks an important milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to responsible and sustainable business.

As a signatory, ITL BioMedical commits to aligning its strategy and operations with the Compact’s Ten Principles, which focus on four key areas: human rights, labour standards, the environment, and anti-corruption. The principles call on businesses to uphold and respect human rights, ensure fair and safe working conditions, take responsibility for environmental impact, and act with integrity in all business dealings.

“Becoming a signatory to the UN Global Compact puts our name to the standards we already hold ourselves to,” said Craig Wilson, CEO of ITL BioMedical. “We develop, manufacture, and distribute devices that protect the people who handle biological samples, and that same duty of care extends to our employees, our supply chain, and the communities where we operate. This commitment means we will measure our progress, report it openly, and keep raising the bar.”

The commitment builds on work already underway to define and embed sustainability across the business, with clear priorities in four areas: people and communities, supply chain, ethical standards, and environmental impact. To date, ITL BioMedical has:

  • Analyzed its carbon footprint in line with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, creating a baseline for future emissions reduction
  • Strengthened its policy framework with new commitments covering human rights, labour standards, environmental responsibility, and anti-bribery and corruption
  • Developed a supplier risk assessment process to evaluate environmental practices, human rights, labour conditions, and modern slavery risks across its supply chain
  • Raised employee awareness so its people understand and support the company’s sustainability commitments

Going forward, ITL BioMedical will continue to evolve its approach, enhance its annual reporting, and demonstrate its contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with increasing transparency.
