ITL BioMedical to Showcase FDA-Listed Cell Culture Sampler and Proven Sampling Solutions at AABB 2026

Sterile Devices Supporting Controlled Sampling for Blood Banking and Cellular Therapy Workflows

Ashburn, VA—ITL BioMedical, a global leader in the design and manufacture of safe, efficient medical devices for biological sampling, will exhibit at the 2026 AABB Annual Meeting, taking place October 17–19, 2026, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. Attendees can visit Booth 514 to see ITL’s sampling innovations and meet with company representatives.

This year, ITL BioMedical is highlighting the Cell Culture Sampler (CCS), now listed with FDA as a Class I medical device under Product Code FMH (21 CFR 864.3250) and exempt from 510(k) premarket notification requirements. The sterile, single-use device is designed for small-volume sampling from cell culture bags into culture bottles without disconnecting the system. Dual air-vent syringes and a Luer-activated valve support the transfer, and a blue adapter cap fits common blood culture bottles. The design supports aseptic technique and limits open handling throughout the sampling process.

Alongside the CCS, ITL BioMedical will highlight the SampLok® Sampling Kit, which streamlines platelet sampling while reducing needlestick risk; the SampLok® Adapter Cap 3, built for safer and more efficient blood culture sample collection; the Adapter Cap with Male Luer Lock, for secure, direct blood culture sampling; and the Adapter Cap with Female Luer, for safe, needle-free blood culture collection.

All showcased products will be available for live demonstration and discussion with ITL’s technical team during exhibit hours:

“Getting the Cell Culture Sampler listed with FDA was a major step for this product, and AABB is where we want to talk about what that means in practice,” said Craig Wilson, CEO of ITL BioMedical. “Labs have told us what they need from a sampling device, and this listing confirms we delivered on that.”

“AABB brings together the people making day-to-day decisions about how their labs handle sampling,” added John Tonkinson, Ph.D., Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. “We’re looking forward to walking attendees through the FDA listing and what it means for their workflows.”
